HOW YOU DRESS SAYS A LOT ABOUT YOUR BOUNDARIES (AND LACK THEREOF, M’LADY!)
1.) If you tend to wear a lot of worn-out tee shirts and ratty jeans or bottoms…
Then, chances are you tend to settle in a lot of areas in your life and tell yourself, “things aren’t that bad”. Which can look like many people in your life getting an ongoing get-out-of-jail-free card (like clients who pay late, kids who don’t do what you ask them to do, partners who let you pull the weight) because you rarely make yourself the priority.
2.) If you only dress practically and leave pieces you LOVE hanging in your closet (with the tags on even!) for special occasions…
Then, chances are you hold back and only show parts of yourself to try to keep others from feeling uncomfortable. Which means you’re censoring yourself instead of speaking your truth, and making what others think more important than your own wellbeing and effing happiness.
3.) If you seem to get hand-me-downs and gifts from family or friends (which you don’t actually love), and wear those instead of cultivating your own style…
Then, signs point to you giving away your power easily and not taking a stand for yourself. Which translates into giving others the benefit of the doubt and putting yourself in the “wrong” or “inferior” position.
4.) If you put together trendy or safe outfits that people compliment...but you don’t actually feel like yourself in them…
Then, chances are you put the needs and opinions of others before yours and seek external approval. Which means, you will overgive ‘til the cows come home and deplete yourself over and over again.
5.) If you are bored or totally uninspired by what’s in your closet, but want to wait until you lose weight, get in shape or make a certain amount of money before investing in yourself…
Then, chances are you tend to procrastinate and leave things until the last minute and end up disappointed with yourself. Which then leads to oodles of self-judgment and stuckness. AKA, you’re tolerating major BS from yourself, and probably those around you.
How you do one thing is how you do EVERYTHING! And I know for a fact that putting intention, attention and affection into what you wear can bring INSTANT changes in other areas of your life and business...because it’s all energy after all, and a mirror for everything else in your life. Which means that if you start putting up firm boundaries with YOURSELF, aka, how you dress for one, the rippling magic shall take place!
